EFFICIENT AND ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY IRRIGATION SYSTEM

commercial fertilizaiton servicesGRO Outdoor Living (then Kyne Landscaping) recently became the first company in the state of Washington to install a glue-less irrigation system called Blue-Loc developed by Hydro-Rain. The pipe and fittings are made from HDPE plastic, which is manufactured with fewer toxins than traditional PVC and is completely recyclable. It also fits together without the use of toxic PVC glue. The irrigation heads were installed with RainBird’s PRS/SAM technology so they spray at optimal pressure and don’t drain after use making them up to 53% more efficient than traditional irrigation heads. To run the system we installed the ET Manager from RainBird, which is an irrigation controller that saves water by making real-time adjustments to the irrigation schedule based on hourly weather information.

We then planted an assortment of drought tolerant native plants and grasses to restore the bank to a sustainable wetland habitat.
